Opening a presentation file opens a blank presentation
When I double click a PowerPoint presentation, it just starts powerpoint and there is one blank slide. It's not opening the presentation correctly. I tried to set the "open with..." to the specific .exe and it still doesn't work. It starts a new "presentation1" presentation.
I can go to File>Open and open a presentation, but that's more work I'd like to avoid. Please help! Thanks! |

So to be clear
You double click a pptx file that has several slides. PowerPoint opens and you see one clank slide?? No error messages? Are you sure the file you click isn't a shortcut to PowerPoint? I ask because I would have said that was impossible! |

Yes, when I open any presentation file, it just starts the program and opens a new presentation called "Presentation1".
Yes, I am certain that the presentation file I'm opening is a presentation and not a shortcut. It worked before but I just re-installed Office and I've been having troubles since. |

Sorry then I've never seen anything like that. Maybe try a repair installation.

Yeah, I think there are some serious issues with some file extension stuff.
When I click a hyperlink in a document, powerpoint or even if I click a link in World of Warcraft's launcher, it starts MICROSOFT WORD to open the link... instead of my browser. Not sure what the heck is up with my file extensions but Microsoft Office has something to do with it. |

Have you tried to open it in OpenOffice Impress? If not then just do it. Or you can open it in MS Word. Are you sure the file is not corrupted? Are you able to open other files?
