Default Link to docx document opens in NotePad

My default file association for docx documents is Word.

Still, this docx document is opened in Word Pad when I click its link in PowerPoint. The same link in the same PowerPoint document works fine (i.e., cause the document to open in Word) when used on a different pc.

Any ideas how to fix this?
