Default problem printing slide notes

Win 7 Ultimate x64
MS Office 2007

I’ve created a presentation with notes:

when I look at it on-screen in Normal view the notes look fine but in a print preview some of the notes appear in very tiny font, so small that it's unreadable. The slides part of the notes pages preview are fine & as I'd designed them.

I cut & pasted the notes into notepad (to strip out most formatting), saved & closed the presentation, re-opened it & copied & pasted the notes from notepad back into the relevant places in PowerPoint, but when I previewed them again - the same problem.

In case it was on-screen only, I printed them out anyway but it was the same in print.

Does anyone know why this is happening & how I can stop it happening?

TIA

Default Resolved, but don't know why it occurred in the 1st place

I tried changing the font size in the notes master: R click text box outline > floating format bar > font size (for the 3 of 12 slides that were unreadable it was set at size 3) changed it to 11 (to match the other slides), but it didn’t make any difference when I print previewed it.

I then tried (in notes master) R clicking the text box > format shape > text box > autofit > (changed to) do not autofit.......... I did this for all notes text boxes & it resolved the problem!

I'm still puzzled as to why the “shrink text on overflow” setting should be active when none of the notes text boxes were anything like full & why in only 3 of 12 of the boxes?

I wondered if maybe I’d accidentally put a load of empty lines after the text so it invoked/called the “shrink text on overflow” function, but I don’t think so. I’d already resolved the problem & closed the ppt before this occurred to me so I reopened it & deliberately inserted a lot of empty lines & made sure it was set to shrink on overflow....................the font size didn’t alter.

So, I've resolved the problem, but don’t really know what caused it in the first place, which is frustrating!

Any ideas on this welcomed

Some times the settings on the Notes Master don't set on existing slides. Maybe that was it.

Right click on notes page > Notes Layout > Reapply Master

AFAIK Shrink on Overflow is the default setting

Thanks, I'm sure that'll come in useful at some point.
