Default playback speed for animated .gif

I am new to Powerpoint so bear with me.
I want to add an animated .gif to a slide and can do so with no problem.
The issue is that the playback speed of the .gif is way too fast and I can't seem to adjust it.
In the toolbar (Animation) the duration is set at "auto" and I can't seem to change it. I can enter a number but it always reverts to "auto".

In the animation pane the option to enter a duration is not available.

The play back speed below is great. In PP it seems 5 times faster.

PowerPoint has no way to control the speed of gifs - it's built into the gif coding.

If it helps I've adusted the gif code and uploaded a couple of versions that may be slower.

Not hard but you need an editor. We have ImageReady but that's overkill. Microsoft no longer support or supply their freebie but it can still be found on the net

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/msgifanimator.html

Load in the gif SELECT ALL FRAMES and adjust the duration in IMAGE, Save again
