I can repro that.
Not sure if it's a bug or somebody at Microsoft had a "good idea"!!! It's not good though. Even if you switch to black screen with code ANY (nearly) key brings the pres back. I passed this on to the PowerPoint Team as a bug - no guarantee they will fix it though.
