How to control picture comprression
Hello forum and thanks to all for reading this thread. When I paste Picture1 (644 kb) into a blank one slide PowerPoint then save the resulting PowerPoint the resulting file size is 857 kb, slightly larger than the picture size, as expected. When I repeat this with Picture 2 (1700 kb) the resulting PowerPoint is 200 kb. In both cases I saved using the option: SaveAs, Tools, Compress Pictures, and unchecked “Automatically perform basic compression on save. I was expecting the PowerPoint file size to be larger than 1700 kb since I turned off compression. If I open the PowerPoint the picture quality is fair, if I open Picture1 or 2 the picture quality is excellent so PowerPoint appears to be compressing the picture even though I have picture compression turned off. The only difference between Picture1 and Picture2 is, Picture1 was downloaded from the internet whereas Picture2 was generated via VBA Code:
ActiveChart.Export Filename:=”c:\User\Documents\Test.bmp”, FilterName:=”bmp” |
