Default how to advance between slides

Hi,
I've created several standalone slides with audio, and saved each slide as its own ppt file.
Now I want to merge everything together into one big file. I copied all the slides with their current formatting into one ppt file, but now when i play the rehearsal, it does not advance from one slide to the next without me having to click it. I want it to do this automatically.

oh, how i did this is the following: each slide was time rehearsed in its own ppt; then copied into the big file where everything is supposed to come together.
Then I click on "Play from the beginning".
Please help.
Harriet

Try this:-

Goto:- (Home) Tab, Then (New Slide), And finally (Reuse Slides), And merge the slides by this way instead of copy and paste.

I didn't try it.. But I think this will help.

I would try setting the transition to Auto after zero seconds and apply to all.

What version of PowerPoint is this (2012??)

Might this help?
> Select in Slide Sorter View all slides that you inserted into the big file.
> Set all transitions for those slides to 'Automatically After...' or 'After...'
> Insert per slide the amount of seconds from your original time-rehearsed file. That way you have the right timings without having to re-rehearse your big file.

Hello Everyone,

I am still struggling to get the two into one. I put the two files in my skydrive - and I am hoping someone here may be able to help me into getting the two different slides, from the two different ppt's into one file, and that when the first slide ends, it automatically go over to the next slide...

skydrive:

Hi Harriet

First:

There is a large amount of silence at the end of the first narration. I have removed this in our studio.

Second try setting the audio to stop after 1 slide rather than current slide. It SHOULD be the same thing but there's a bug and it isn't. Set the transition time to just a little more than the narration time.

Should then look like this (needs 2010 or 2007 SP2)

Payment in wine is acceptable ;-)

Hi John, hehe - payment in wine

thanks for taking the time to look at it... how did you test it - that it actually do progress to the next slide? because i just tried running your pptx file, and it also does not go to the next slide; in fact all the transitions are missing. I use the "From the beginning" button to play the whole thing, and expects to see transitions etc, and then progression to the next slide. is this what you are seeing?

Am i missing something here? i'm working in ppt 2010.

John - you are a star!

Thank you so much, I got it working by setting the audio to stop after 1 slide.
Trimmed the audio by right clicking and then select "trim audio".

You wouldn't believe you much you helped me.

Thanks a lot, send me you adress so i can get you some payment in wine!

Glad it worked out.

The reason I didn't use the built in trim commands was they cause all sorts of problems if the user only has 2007. See our gripe page here.

I was joking about the wine o course BUT if you really want too ....

Contact email is on our contact page!
