Exporting Slideshows in 2010
Hi there
I'd like to be able to export my PowerPoint slideshow as a .ppsx file (or some other standalone file) which when opened opens in a window. Is this possible (I've looked all over the internet and can't seem to find a solution). Thanks in advance |

Would using the convert to video function work?

Also Im not sure if this is what you are asking but it may be in save as and then change what the type of file you are saving it as. I beleive that file extension is there but I only used Powerpoint 2010 for about 15 days till I went back to 2003.

Hi and thanks for replying!
What I meant was, saving the powerpoint slideshow as a ppsx file, but making it open in a window of its own when clicked (as opposed to full screen). Is there any way I can disable the slide controls also (I'm making an interactive programming tutorial for kids). Thanks again |

Darn I did not spend enough time with 2010 office to tell for sure how to do this. I know it is possible to disable the controls and in 2003 you would set up the show before you saved it and it was all in slide show set up probably on the slide show ribbon to do both of these on 2010

Given it a try and found a way I can get it to open in a window. But all I want is just a window frame with my show in it, absolutely no other controls. Is there any way (or an add in) to do this?

There's no way to force a ppsx to open in a small window. But if you open in edit mode hold down CTRL and click the little slide show icon just left of the zoom control ....
It would be opossible to write an AddIn to do this and control the size and position (which you cannot do manually) |

Would it be possible to download such an add-in?
I don't know all that much about programming, and I can't learn it in time for the deadline of this project. |

I don't know of any commercial AddIn that does this but it's not difficult coding. I have uploaded a simple demo showing the basic code needed. Press "CLICK" to make the window smaller.
The code should be easy to understand so if you can find someone with a basic understanding ... http://www.pptalchemy.co.uk/Downloads/Small window.ppsm |
