Default Get downloaded template to appear in "design" tab?

Hi,
I've downloaded several powerpoint templates, and I've saved them in the default location:

(Local disk>Users>MyName>AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>Templa tes)

According to a number of tip sites/forums, this should make these templates automatically show up in the "design" tab of Powerpoint, but they don't (closing and re-opening Powerpoint doesn't help). I suppose I could just open them from the directory location each time I want to use them, but that's a lot less convenient.

Any suggestions on how to get these templates to show up in the ribbon each time I use powerpoint?

Thanks in advance.
