Exporting from PowerPoint to Jpg files

I have made a presentation in PowerPoint and then exported the slides to individual jpg files - to use later with Picassa and put up in the clouds.
But, when I open the individual jpg files, they are quite small and the resolution is terrible.
Why aren't they the same size and resolution as in PowerPoint ??
