Default Action button triggered with remote clicker?

I have 2 custom shows built into my presentation. Show X is a set of slides that automatically transitions through the show, then loops when it gets to the last slide. Think of it as a rolling intro that repeats itself until I'm ready to show the main presentation, which is Show Y, a set of standard slides. It's set up similar to what you see here.

For Show X, I have a large invisible action button set over each slide that, upon mouse click, will exit the looping Show X and jump to the first slide in Show Y.

The problem appears to be that I cannot use a remote control clicker to activate the Action Button, since the Action Button is effectively a hyperlink. It appears that the only way to get out of show X is to literally click the mouse on the screen. The laptop will not be on stage with me.

Is there another way I can set up custom Show X so a click of the remote clicker can activate Show Y? You can't seem to designate the action button to react upon a remote clicker.
