Default Having trouble, on a simple fade in and zoom action for an image

Hello,

I am trying to achieve, what I thought should be pretty simple, but I'm not doing too well.

I have a few slides with images that take up almost the entire slide (Single image per slide).

All I want to do, is have it start in the slide smaller than its actual size (but see something) and zoom up till it reaches its actual size and opacity.

My options in the actions area seem to be as follows:

In the Entrance actions- I have "faded zoom", which would work, but I don't want it to fade from that small, it basically fades in and zooms from nothing to the entire size and opacity, and I need it to start smaller then where it ends up, but at least from something larger than where it does with this preset. Basically, I just want it to go from one size (maybe 25% of actual size) to 100% of actual size.

The other option I found in the Emphasis area-Grow and Shrink, looked like it had potential, but my grow options are more than 100% of actual size (150% and 400%). Problem here is, at 150% the image starts to get soft and blurry.

Is there anyway to just have an image start small (not even faded..just smaller) and then grow to its proper size (but not bigger than its actual size) in PowerPoint.

Thanks!!!
Babs

You can avoid pixellation by having FOUR animations
Instantly disappear
Shrink to 25% (set to 0.1 sec)
Appear again

You should hardly see the shape shrink

Now add a Grow back to original size (400%)

Demo here

HI John..I was just going to write to you to ask you a question on this.

For some reason, when I do it on my own, the image doesn't stay on the slide at the smaller size, before it grows, like your does? Seems like I am doing everything the same, but when I move to that slide, it starts off small, but grows right away. Where yours stays on the slide, until I click?

Also, I noticed for your very fast transition, you have .1 seconds (my smallest choice is .5) .. Is there some place where you made this a custom change?

Sorry, just trying to practice it the way you did it and not just switch the picture ;-)
thanks

No problem Babs

You just need to make the grow animation ON CLICK and it should work like mine.

To get 0.1 seconds (or anything other than the default) simply go to the timing dialog, and manually type in 0.1 instead of 0.5.
