Logged on this morning successfully onto net and word and then went into Outlook and error message stopped this running. ERROR MESSAGE - 'Cannot start MS outlook. Cannot open the outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. Errors have been detected in the file c:\users\chezania\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\ outlook.pst .
Tried to run Inbox repair on this computer but it stopped with error message about probable harddisk error... So....I copied .pst file to an external hard drive and used another computer with same office set up,version and ran the .pst file with Inbox repair which appeared to run and finished - done. So....now I would like to get the repaired inbox onto one of our two PCs before I go about trying to establish the possible hardware problem. It seems to make sense to get our outlook .pst file to populate the other working pc which currently has Outlook installed but not used i.e. no contacts, calendar etc. Sooo I tried importing the relevant .pst from the external hard drive to the new PC and it ran ok, and a load of files appeared in the Lost & found as 60 folders with names such as 'recovered file 8062' - all appear to be empty..... Can you tell me where I went wrong? Where I go next? I could still start from scratch as the orginal PC which fell over this morning is as it was before I copied the .pst file from it. Look forward to hearing from someone soon. |
