The mail server clears the mails after having sent them to Outlook
Hi to all.
I am using Outlook 2003 as Mail Client in my PC and my problem is the following: I have seen, and checked, that the mail server clears all the mails after having sent them to Outlook. It seems to me that there exists, somewhere, a parametrization to do in Outlook (or in Windows?) to allow the server to keep the mails. Somebody knows how to do to prevent tha above situation? Thanks in advance Frasal |

To hep you locate what is causing this, can you please be more specific in the type of email account you are using.
- What type of email account are you suing? IE POP3, IMAP or Exchange? - Do you have any external devices, like a mobile device, confuigred to this account? - Have you enabled Auto Archiving? - When you stated " The server is removing the messages after sending them to Outlook", do these messages remain in Outlook? Keep us updated. |

Hi Spider Tech and thanks for the quick answer.
Here are my answers: 1: I'm using a POP 3 account 2:No 3:?? I do not know; where is the possibility to enable auto archiving? 4: Yes the messager are correctly stored within Outlook In addition I inform you that the call center of my provider said that they do not store the messages after having sent them to the Client ( it seems to me quite strange...but it could be) Frasal |

With a POP3, messages being removed or popped into your mailbox is normal behavior. When creating a POP account, you have the choice to "Leave a copy" on the server. Double check your Outlook settings and see if they will stay on the server end. Surprising a mail provider would not store messages.

The mail server clears the mails after having sent them to Outlook
Hi Spider Tech, thanks a lot for the suggestion; in effect the "leave a copy in the server" flag was not set because I was looking for it in the general Outlook parameters and not in the Account parameters.
Now it works. Again thanks and regards Frasal |
