Question Shared Calendar Attendee Appointment End Time

I have a user who has a calendar that is shared with the rest of the office for various appointments. When she enters an appointment and invites attendees, those attendees either do not have end time (like it will end on the last day of the week) or the end time is off.

Any suggestions on how to fix that?

She is using XP with Office 2007 and Exchange 2007 on Server 2008.

Thanks in advance.

This could be an issue with the free/busy information for each attendee. try using this Outlook 2007 command switch.

Windows XP:
  • Click Start.
  • Click Run.
  • Enter the following in the Run dialog box (with quotations):
    "c:\program files\microsoft office\office12\Outlook.exe" /cleanfreebusy
  • Click OK.
Clean Free/Busy - Clears and regenerates the free/busy information on the Exchange server. This switch affects Outlook and OWA data, and can only be used when connected to Exchange.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info... Should the switch be ran on the computer of the user sending the invites or the attendees?

Thanks again!

I would first start with the owners of the calendar. If that does not fix the issue start with one user at a time.

Thank you for keeping me updated. Since cleaning of the free-busy information did not fix the issue, does this users domain have and configured their DNS hosting provider with and AutoDiscover Cname?

Here is some information on Autodisocver:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...CHG.80%29.aspx

I have attempted to replicate your issue to no success. All attendees in my shared calendar, that I'm the owner of, show all free-busy info and the start and end times are available even if the meeting appointment occurs in the past. My domain does have Autodiscover configured.

If you can provide a screen shot of this occurrence,

Thanks again SpiderTech. I received more info from the user and it appears the calendar is published to SharePoint and Outlook isnt enforcing the SharePoint rules. A solution can be found on this blog.
