Default Outlook 2007 strange error msg

On my work laptop - every time i start Outlook i get this error window. yes every single time. if i start it at the beginning of the day or close and reopen during the day. at work and at home.

"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. A program error occurred. Quit Outlook and Microsoft Windows and then start again."

Now Outlook actually works (as does Windows), i can click the Ok button on this error msg and it continues as if nothing happened. so it's not affecting anything, but it's very annoying and I can't seem to find an answer.

I am on Windows XP Pro Version 2002 Service Pack 3 with MS Office 2007 Pro.

I have tried the following,
have run scanost and scanpst
have created a new profile and started outlook in this

all to no avail

Thanks - i hope
