Default Clean out "Other Calendars"

I have many calendars in my "Other Calendars" container within my Outlook 2007 SP2 profile. I no longer need to access these and would like to clean out the "other calendars" but I can;t see a way to do this. I've tried creating a new Group, moving the Calendars into it but then I don't have permission to remove the new group. I've looked at the outlook.xml file in my profile but it has no signs of these extra calendars. I do not want to delete the calendars as they are still used by others here I just want to remove them from my Outlook profile.

If you right click on the calendar, you can select "delete calendar" and it will just remove the calendar from your Outlook. It will not delete the calendar of the other user.

Default Delete Calendar option

"If you right click on the calendar, you can select "delete calendar" and it will just remove the calendar from your Outlook. It will not delete the calendar of the other user"

This doesn't work on all the calendars in the lists. Some we can delete but on most others that option is greyed out. I thought this was because my User either wasn't the owner of those calendars or only had view or contribute permissions in the first place. Given that this is just a list like the Recent Docs list on the Start Menu there really should be an easy way to clear it out.
