Default IMAP Deletion

Now that I've set up IMAP, whenever I delete an email it simply gets a line through it. How can I make it so that it will be put in the "Trash" folder?

Here's what it looks like now, as an example:

Thanks for your help,

For IMAP, when you delete the emails in Outlook, the emails weren't really deleted on the server. How about dragging them to Trash folder?

If I absolutely have to, I will. Why does Outlook have to be so difficult?

Well I just tried dragging it to the trash folder, and Outlook merely put a line through it again!

That sounds great, I just have one hesitation: Will "purging" the messages move them to Trash, or delete them permanently?

The emails would be deleted permanently after purge.
