When I add a signature for my email in Outlook 2003, the following characters appear above the signature when it is applied to the email, but do not appear in the signature creation function: 



What's going on here, and how do I get rid of it?

What format of the picture is being used? secondly, what is the original size of the picture? The symbol may indicate a resiesong of the original image.
