Default Unable to close Outlook 2000 after using Outloook 2003

We are having an issue with Outlook 2000 clients hanging on exit after an Exchange 5.5 or 2003 mailbox has been accessed by Outlook 2003.

Does Outlook 2003 change something in the mailbox that would prevent an older client from exiting properly?

Is there something that can be changed to allow the Outlook 2000 client to shutdown properly?
