Default Reply using a specific message

I want to set a rule that sends a receipt when a student sends me a message having QUIZHINT in the subject line. That set up is easy enough but I cannot seem to create the "specific template" to use as the reply.

I can see that I am directed to "C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates \*.oft" but the browse shows no qualifying files. I go to that location and create one but I don't know where MS choose to save it.

I create one on the desktop and it is saved as QuizHint.Oft.Docx and I rename it to a QuizHint.oft file. I drag it to the C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\ but the browse still cannot see it.

There is no option in the Word save-as pull down menu for a *.oft file type.

What is the magic secret code?

It used to be so easy,...
