Default Conditional formatting - "From" - Why does it recognise only names and not emails

Dear all,

I use conditional formatting in custom views in an mail PST folder to color code emails from different senders.

I use the "from" field to do this.

But it will only work if I enter the name of the sender. If I use the email address, it doesn't work.

That seems rather strange. There are some senders whose name change slightly depending on where they send the email from, e.g. from a web client or an email client.

Is there a separate field for the sender email address?

Regards,
Jay
