Default Rules & scripts

I want to create a rule where when a message is received, a separate (generic) message will go to a different email address to advise that mail is waiting.

Would this fall under scripts and, if so, what would the script look like?

I have seen a couple of scripts out there but they are mostly for notifications.

There is this, but it is a paid app.

You could also just forward a copy of the message to the 2nd address.
