I have a handful of users who experience delays when trying to attach documents to new email messages using the paperclip icon. We are using Windows xp sp3 with Outlook 2007. The first reports came in a few weeks ago, but it may have been going on longer. Wierd thing is that it's only some files that are affected. I have tested Word docs, spreacdsheets and pdfs of various sizes and it doesn't seem to matter what the size or type of file is or where it's located (it was first noted and is most prevalant on the the desktop folder). Some of each type\size work fine others it takes up to several minutes to attach. Stranger still is that if instead of using the paperclick icon I drag and drop one of the same documents that takes several minutes to attach from the shortcut with drag and drop it pops right in with no delay at all. I've tried rebuilding the user profile, repairing Office and even removing Adobe based on a post from another forum. I've tried deactivating our AV software to see if it was delaying the attachemnt. Nothing seems to affect the problem. Anyone have a sugegstion on what else to try?
