It used to be simple to add an option in a rule to send a specific reply when certain words are in the subject. There were two options, one to use a specific template or one to use a specific message. When using "specific message" an editor would show up and I could write the message while the rule is still open. Did that option disappear? Was it renamed? Was it moved? Am I just missing it?
Now it looks like I have to exit the rule then search the system for the templates. Is there an easy way to do this? |

It looks like the option to reply with a "specific message" is now only available if you're using an Exchange server. In 2010 at least, the server actually sends the reply. The benefit to this is it allows the replies to send even if Outlook is not open. The downside is it appears to be unavailable if you're not on Exchange.

I can find the NormalEmail.dotm in templates and change it but when I go to save it, the system wants to put it into the Documents folder. Now I can rename the original .dom file for safe keeping and then go into documents folder to copy/paste and rename it it back into the templates folder but this is crazy. Am I missing the location to simply create an "automated reply? How will I be able to create others to reply to other key words in e-mail messages? It looks like once I create one then it will be the standard for all automated replies. It used to be so simple,.... Cannot an average person use Outlook anymore? |
