How to move an outbox from one computer to the next?
Hi,
I am moving computers from a desktop to laptop, both with windows 7, office 2010. I use exchange so all my e-mails moved over by itself -- ASIDE from my outbox. I have 75 scheduled e-mails to be sent out over the next 2 months, and would like to move these e-mails with the delay delivery settings. I tried moving it with import/export but once it came in again it did not recognize it as an outgoing message, and it did not have the delay delivery options. It looked similar to an incoming message with the options that were available. If anyone can help instead of me going through each e-mail myself it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

How to Export a PST File of Outlook
* 1 Open Outlook. Select File > Import and Export > Export to a file > Next.
* 2 In the "Create a file of type" window, select "Personal Folder File (PST)," and click "Next." * 3 The next window allows you to choose which folder you would like to export. If you would like to back up all your emails, simply select "Personal Folders" and make sure the box next to "Include subfolders" underneath the window is checked. This will export all folders in your mailbox. * 4 The next window allows you to choose a save location for your backup. The default location, "...\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\backup.ps t" may be difficult to locate later. Clicking the "Browse" button allows you to choose another location, such as the Desktop or an external drive. Once you've chosen a name and location, click "Finish" and Outlook will create the file for you. |

Possible Solution
I had an Executive Director at a company schedule his emails by months in advance using the delay send option. He was very concerned that his outbox emails wouldn't come over to his new system. He only had 21 of them, so this method may be cumbersome for people that have 100+ emails sitting in there.
Steps I took to get the emails moved to his new system and keep the delayed send settings: - Documented the delayed send settings for each message with screenshots. (precaution just in case) - Exported the emails from his "Outbox" on his old PC to a .PST file - Created a new folder in Outlook and imported the Outbox emails from his old PC. - Opened each email, verified the delayed send options were correct and clicked send. - Checked the Outbox on his new PC and verified all the messages were there and ready to be sent. |
