Default How do I keep most recent email from a sender?

Hi there, I have a question that I can't seem to Google my way through.

At work, I receive email updates from a certain section of the company. I have a rule set up for these emails that sends them directly to their own designated folder. With these updates, only the most recent is of use to me. I'm wondering if there's a rule I can set up that will send the older emails straight to my Deleted Items folder once a new email has come through. The emails come through sporadically and not at any specific time.

I'm using Outlook 2010.

Cheers for the help.

Upon testing, it appears the outlook rules set up does not have something that will allow you to specifically move items from one folder to the deleted items folder. Since the filtering system works on messages received nd sent there was one option called Received in a specific date span.

This will allow you to move all items to a specified folder. Most commonly used an archive folder. However, using secondary attributes like with name in the to field or in conjunction with subject line you could properly filter those messages only.

Hope this helps.

Hi Spidertech. Thanks for the help.

The only unfortunately thing is that the emails don't come through at any specific time or date. I would only ever need the latest email from the sender, whether it be from 5 minutes ago or three weeks ago.

Unfortunately without a defining parameter, the rule or rules you create will not filter the email.

Since you have rules in place to filer the sender to a specific folder, you can arrange them by category. If you assing them by catagory you could possibly set a rule by catagory. But again it will remove all messages in the catagory. You could set it to perform the function you need after you have selected the email necessary.

Hope this helps.
