I'm running Office 7 on a Win7 64bit machine. I've created a few templates but cannot get them to load/open. When creating I follow the instructions:

• Save As
• navigate to a folder
• name
• save

When I attempt to open/load:

• Tools
• Forms
• User Templates in File System
• navigate to the template
• It appears as a folder

I'm stumped, what am I doing wrong?

The issue is probably because you aren't saving the file as a template format.

What you gotta do is:

• open new message
• type in what you want to save as a template
• click Save As
• navigate to a folder
• type in name
• select type of file "save as type" (right under where you type in the name of the file)
• select "outlook message format" or "outlook template"
• save

When open/load:

• Tools
• Forms
• User Templates in File System
• navigate to the template

OR

• navigate to the file
• double click on it (it should open automatically in Outlook"
