Synced Yahoo to Outlook but don't want to receive all old emails in Outlook?

I have 14,000 emails in my yahoo account. I just synced this account to Outlook and would rather only see emails show up as of now. When I press send/receive, it tries to retrieve ALL emails. Obviously I do not want this. I can send emails from an exchange server to my yahoo email, but it does not show up in this yahoo account in Outlook (I pressed cancel send/receive when it tried to retrieve all messages). I can send an email in this yahoo account (with outlook) and it will send.



How do I set up this new account without retrieving all messages and to get the send/receive to function properly?

The Outlook send/receive is working correctly.

The reason you are not receiving new e-mail is that you have stopped the send/receive synchronization from mailbox to mail client.

If you do not want to view the old emails, archive them, using Outlook, or delete them. There is no option to only download specific data from your mailbox.

I went ahead and put all of my emails in a separate folder in Yahoo that way Outlook didn't retrieve all messages.

However, I noticed my emails are not showing up in Yahoo anymore? The whole purpose of doing this was so I could view my personal yahoo email in Outlook while at work, and go home and view my email in yahoo. Now it appears that my emails are only going to my Outlook (work computer).

There is a setting in your Yahoo account where you need to select the option "leave a copy of messages on server".

Right now, once the email get sent to Yahoo, it gets forwarded to Outlook, and then it is deleted from the Yahoo server, which is why it does not show up in your Yahoo.
