I have set up Outlook 2010 and my Gmail successfully sends a copy of a received email to Outlook. But, where are my sent items in Outlook? The software has picked up ancient sent emails (from a previously failed outlook email installation) but not recent ones and so despite using it regularly there is nothing newer than September last year. The sent items are in my Gmail sent folder though.
Please only use words of one syllable or screen shots - have enough problems with this as it is! Thanks Plummydear ![]() |

What type of mail account is it..POP or IMAP?
If this account is setup as a IMAP account, then you may need to subscribe to the Sent Items Folder. |

You seem to be experiencing the opposite of what most Outlook Gmail users face. Usually, there's a problem with duplicate sent messages.
This arises when the setting "save sent items in the following folder (Sent folder) on the server" is selected. Apparently, most email providers do not save a copy of an outgoing email into the IMAP sent folder when this setting is not selected. Gmail does so on its own. So users with that option enabled end up getting a duplicate. When you say that your sent email cannot be found in the sent folder but can be found in the Gmail sent items, are you referring to the Outlook default PST sent folder or the IMAP sent folder for the gmail PST? If it is the former, you can try selecting the dial button "Save sent items in the Sent items folder on this computer". Go to File> Account settings> Email> More Settings> Sent items. Jay |

Hi Jay,
I am sorry to say that I don't know what you mean in the sentence "Outlook default PST sent folder or the IMAP sent folder for the gmail PST?" In Outlook I have two sent folders neither of which contain anything newer than last September when the previous version of Outlook crashed. In fact there seem to be two inboxes, one of which has a email which I can't delete and nothing else. My other problem this morning is that I can't even open Outlook - no error message - just plain dead! I love Microsoft ..... Any help at all would be marvellous! Sian |

You seem to be bringing up multiple issues. Perhaps a screenshot of your Outlook workspace would help.
