outlook .pst files deleted but e-mails still appear in "search"
I've recently attempted to cleanup/delete hundreds of messages all at once in a profile not used in years and in a mail program (Outlook) I no longer use. Thinking it would be faster than manual deletion, I simply deleted the .pst files. Now, however, when I do a search on anyone's name who has sent me an email it shows up in the search results. I can't open it (it only shows the first few lines of the e-mail) but neither can I permanently delete them. Even though there is a right click delete option, they show right back up when I re-run the search. Does anyone have any idea where these files live and why they can't be permanently deleted?

HAlexander,
The .PST is a local copy of all profile and email data. This does not mean all of your messages have been removed. To fully remove all data you will need to remove the profile associated with this data. - Open your control panel - Change it to small icons - Click the Mail Icon - Show Profiles Hope this helps. |

.pst files
I found and deleted the Outlook profile but the e-mails are still showing up in search and still will not permanently delete. Are there other possibilities?

HAlexander,
I believe the following link has the location of the options to disable the Outlook indexing. Hope this helps. http://www.addictivetips.com/microso...arch-indexing/ |
