![]() Hi All- I work with 40+ clients who each have 3-20 contacts that they like included on all communications. As such, I have built distribution lists for each client. Often I will need to send the same email to all of my clients. Years ago, we would send 40 different emails, one for each DL. About 2 years ago we began sending one email with all 40 distribution lists in the BCC field. The problem I am running into, however, is now I get 20 emails back asking me if "x" person was included on the email. I would LOVE to find a way to perform a mail merge where it sends a group email to each distribution list. So far I have only been able to get the mail merge to send an individual email to each person listed on a distribution list. This has the same results as using the BCC....20 emails asking if so and so was included. I hope this makes sense and I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone has the miracle to solve this issue!!! |

No, unfortunately that doesn't get me what I need. The directions on the link send an individual email to each person on the distribution list. I need to send 1 email to all the contacts in distribution list 1 and a duplicate email to all the contacts in distribution list 2 and so on. It looks like this very helpful functionality is just not possible.

Hi miguelal
Yes, I was finally able to accomplish this using the mail merge wizard in Word. I don't know what version of Word you have but for me I go to the Mailings Ribbon and select Start Mail Merger > Step by Step Mail Merge Wizard. This allows you to connect to your outlook contacts. The Display Name (will be way over on the right. I dragged this column next to the checkbox) is your distribution list name. Once you are done composing your email an you go to merger in the To: fields select Display_name. Hope this works as well for you as it did for me. FYI though, you do lose some functionality such as adding an attachement or using the reply to option. |
