Default Meeting Appointment Not Showing Local Time

I am using MS Outlook 2007
OS is Vista

When I look at my calendar, all the appointments are displayed in my local time and that's good. However, when I open one of the appointments that was not set up by me, the Start Time in the appointment shows the organizer's time that is in a different time zone. The appointment does show the time zone field but it's grayed out so I cannot change it to show my time zone.

Is it possible for all the appointments to automatically show my local time just like the calendar?

April,

I believe many people have experience this situation.

You may want to add a second Time Zone for your Outlook.

Yes, I tried that already. It only added an extra time zone in the Calendar view. Since my Calendar view shows the correct time for all meetings, adding the time zone in this view doesn't help me. I need the meeting appointments after they are opened to show the correct time.
