Outlook 2007 - Bad Address List Data?
So we're running Outlook 2007, with Exchange 2007...
We have a few users in our global address list, where instead of their email address, it has some random string of numbers (GUID maybe?). So for instance... John Doe should have the email address JDoe@Company.com, instead the address book shows something like: "5645423131s45615615@company.com". I have verified through our PDC active directory, and the exchange server, that both locations have the correct email address. Any ideas? |

Rebuild your GAL on the exchange server. Hit the Start button and select "All Programs." Click to open "Microsoft ExchangeServer." Select "Exchange Management Shell." This will launch a new window with a command prompt. Please note that you will require administrative privileges to access this utility. Type "get-offlineaddressbook | update-offlineaddressbook" without the quotes. Press "Enter." Wait till the Server "rebuilds" your default Global Address List. Depending on the size of your GAL, this process may take several minutes to complete. Close down Management Shell when the rebuild process completes. Manually download the GAL in an Outlook client to confirm the addresses are now correct |
