Office Outlook 2003 hangs up while receiving

Problem with Office Outlook 2003 pro.
The problem is on a Dell vostro laptop running windows 7 pro.
The laptop is connected to a domain which is 2003 server.

I cant seem to get office to receive emails. Its sends then hangs up on the receiving steps.
I am connected to the network and have internet connection fine. I am also able to connect to all the network drives fine. I tried removing firewalls, disabling AV software, tried both wired and wireless, tried other email accounts.
None of the above seemed to work.

There are other laptops on the network running win7 pro as well with office 2003 and they are not having problems. Im totally stuck!
Am i missing something?

With hangs and freezes in Outlook, the first thing to check is always add-ins. Even if nothing has been installed or changed recently, it's still a good idea to try loading Outlook with no add-ins to make sure that's not the cause. Outlook can be launched in safe mode by typing the following in the Search programs and files field in the start menu:

Outlook /safe

Also, are you running in cached or non-cached mode? If it's cached mode, it may be an issue with the local Inbox in your .OST file. Use the following steps to see if you're running in cached mode:

1. Click the Tools menu and select Account Settings.
2. Double-click the Exchange account.
3. Check if "Use Cached Exchange Mode" is checked.

If the box is checked, uncheck it and click Next > Finish. Then try closing and re-opening Outlook and see if you are able to receive email. If you are able to, you will probably need to rebuild your .OST file.

There was 1 add-inn which was a outlook search addin. I unchecked it and problem still there. Im not running through an exchange server so i cant be in cached mode.

BTW I randomly get emails sometimes. Maybe like once or twice throughout an 8 hour period. Funny thing is when it does work, if i hit send/receive, it goes through the process fine as long as there is no email to receive. If there is an email then it hangs again.
