Default Backup PST with correct folders

Hi,

I have now a very big PST file (around 13Gb), and would like to make to divide it by year, making a PST file for 2008, 2009, etc.
But mainly I would like to keep my folder structure, so if I need to add the PST file, I can easily search what I need.

How is that possible?

Thanks in advance.

I am sure there are 3rd party programs out there that may be able to split up the pst file like you want it. But there is nothing built in Outlook to do that.

Red face Possible work around for this!

I found my outlook.pst folder getting very large also and wanted some solution. If you look in the pane on Outlook you should see a tree system with PERSONAL FOLDERS and ARCHIVE FOLDERS. Any folders that you have that retain a lot of mail such as INBOX and SENT you can archive freequently and keep them smaller. Then, those that are deleted from PERSONAL FOLDERS go to a duplicate folder in ARCHIVE FOLDERS. Again, all the ones deleted from PERSONAL FOLDERS>INBOX will now reside in ARCHIVE FOLDERS>INBOX. In so preserving them but making the Outlook.pst much smaller. Using EXPORT a file you can export or save outlook.pst and archive.pst to any folder you want or create for future recovery. If you just let them pile up in ARCHIVE FOLDERS>Inbox, which you can, that is acceptable if it's acceptable to you. You can add and add-on to Outlook called BACKUP which preserves and saves mail for recovery. The only way all the mail you have can be viewed quickly and at all times is to let it reside in ARCHIVE FOLDERS. I have tried to be clear, if not, feel free to let me try it again. Jack
