Default Losing emails

We have two computers, a laptop and a desktop. I have our email going into outlook on both. However, when I look at an email on one computer it does not show up on the other one. It is simply not there. Any thoughts?

Is this account setup as a POP account on either machine? If so make sure that you have "leave a copy of messages on server" selected on both.
