Time limit on the use of "add e-mail address" add-in by Sperry
In 2006 I bought the "add e-mail address" add-in from Sperry to use with my 2003 Outlook. I reinstalled all the programs recently and found that I was no longer able to use this add-in - I received a notification that Sperry placed a time limit on the use of the said add-in. I wrote to them, reminding them of the content of their e-mail to me at the time of purchase, which says "You should keep your order id in a safe place, because you'll need it if you ever need to request a copy of your registration keys." They offered a 50% discount on the upgrade but no explanation. I replied that I needed to know if there's a time limit on the upgrade too, but have received no reply.
Now, the money involved is really not worth mentioning, but I have a big problem with their attitude, which to me is highly unethical. Also, I have not encountered this anywhere else in the past fifteen years! I reckon that if there's a time limit on the use of a product, the seller should inform the buyer of this fact at the time of purchase, period. I would appreciate any info where I can buy a similar add-in that is not made by Sperry. Thanks! |
