Default Current view filter applies automatically

Good Morning,

This morning one of our users had an interesting problem. He complained that Outlook was deleting his e-mails automatically, so I went to see if a filter was applied and he simply couldn't see his messages. Indeed, that was the case so I turned the filter off and told him what happened.
A bit later, he called me up again and said it was "deleting the e-mails" again. When I checked again, the filter was again applied. I asked him if he was applying any filters, and he said no. In fact, he didn't even know you could apply filters. Does anyone have any idea why a filter would be "applying itself?" We're not using Exchange; we just have a simple POP3 setup. This user is the only one experiencing the problem.
The filter name that keeps popping up just seems like jibberish to me. It's a bunch of random characters.

Any help would be great as I can't seem to find anything about this problem in the few hours that I've been searching.
