I just installed MS Office Pro Academic 2010. I included all the programs including Outlook. When I click on the Outlook desktop icon, I get the following error message:
Borland Database Engine not installed. Can't load Corel Address Book Service Provider. I googled that message and the problem seems to with the installation of WordPerfect. Does anyone know of a way to run both WordPerfect (not the whole suite) and Outlook 2010 on the same computer? |

The issue is probably being caused by the Wordperfect Address Book plugin, which is not compatible with Outlook 2010. Try opening Outlook in safe mode and then seeing if the addin is there. If so you can just disable it.
To run Outlook in Safe Mode, you should be able to just open the Start menu and enter "Outlook /safe" (without the quotes) in the Search programs and files box. Once Outlook is open, go to File > Options > Add-Ins. Click on the Go button next to COM Add-ins, and look for any Corel Add-ins. Uncheck them to disable them, click OK, and then restart Outlook. Hope this helps. -SW |

Thanks for the suggestion. I finally had time to try it out. Outlook was still installed and I installed WordPerfect again, and this time--no problem at all. Go figure. Nobody ever said computers were logical.
