We created a corporated signature with some images included then we deployed to all users. The signature works fine in HTLM format but when a user creates or reply a email in Rich Text format the signature loose the pictures and format when arrives to the destination (internet mail or corporate users)



All most of our users use office 2007 but some users still have office 2003, in those cases we have a option (Use Microsoft Office Word 2003...messages) that aparently solve this problem because when they open the message the signature is ok.

Anyone can help us?

Images in signatures are notoriously problematic. It's much better in HTML format because HTML was designed to support in-line images. RTF isn't. Even in HTML format though you can't guarantee how the recipient is going to see your message - if they're using Outlook you have a pretty good idea of how it will render, but if they're using Thunderbird, Notes or some obscure 3rd party e-mail client it could do all sorts of wacky things with your images. Plus some systems still force incoming HTML messages to plain text or RTF. So even if you send as HTML you can't guarantee it'll be received as HTML. That problem is 20 times worse in RTF which really isn't designed for in-line images. I guess I'm not really giving you a solution here - other than don't rely too heavily on images in e-mail signatures, especially if you can't guarantee all of your messages will be sent AND received as HTML.

So... what I need to do to solve this problem..... exist any registry key that force the send of the image in rich text format... or we don´t have any solution?

Well..the problem is that even if you force all of your outgoing messages to HTML you can't control whether the recipient is going to force it back to RTF. There's a chance that if they sent you a message in RTF that their system doesn't support HTML (either by limitation or by policy).

Since the goal is to have the message received in a certain way it doesn't really get you there to force things on your side.

I guess you could encourage/remind your users to send in HTML format whenever possible (they can change their RTF replies to HTML) but you'll still have to live with some percentage of recipients who just aren't going to see your signature file the way you intend it. Nothing you can do about it, really, short of not using images in the signature.
