Default Prevent Outlook from adding line breaks

I want to send this as a plain text email using Outlook:

Quote:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Sed facilisis augue cursus turpis eleifend pellentesque. Etiam ultricies malesuada mauris sed bibendum. Cras ipsum eros, sodales sed scelerisque vitae, convallis quis elit.

Fusce lacus lorem, sodales vitae ultrices porta, lobortis condimentum ante. In hac habitasse platea dictumst. Cras adipiscing condimentum sapien vel aliquam. Proin non mattis velit. Sed accumsan imperdiet ipsum, vitae ornare nunc cursus quis.

Proin tellus eros, ultrices in blandit nec, mollis interdum nulla. Etiam congue volutpat augue. Nam lacinia, orci id placerat vulputate, mauris justo consequat magna, vitae dignissim elit ipsum ac urna. Curabitur leo eros, fermentum molestie interdum quis, viverra rutrum mauris. In placerat accumsan sodales. Sed leo mi, scelerisque et pharetra quis, convallis in tortor. Donec cursus imperdiet magna, vel tristique nulla tincidunt a. Suspendisse nisl libero, pulvinar in imperdiet rutrum, cursus sit amet odio.
This is what the message should look like to the recipient (and how it looks when I send it using Opera)

This is what the message looks like to the recipient when I send it using Outlook:

Obviously Outlook is adding a ton of line breaks for nothing, making especially long emails harder to read. Is there any way to disable this weird behavoir? I would very much prefer that my mails arrive the way I write them without getting reformatted by Outlook.

Okay, seems like I found a solution.

You can set after how many characters the line break appears in Outlook 2010 by changing the following setting:
File > Options > Mail > Message format > Automatically wrap text at character

However, you can only chose a number between 30 and 132. It is not possible to disable the extra line break in Outlook. (Note that it even can be disabled in a crappy mail client like the one from Opera.)

132 characters for a line still breaks your layout, so this still isn't a solution. The actual solution (or bypass) is editing the windows registry. I found a hint to this solution here, so kudos to that guy, Stan Starinski:
http://us.generation-nt.com/controll...199009261.html
The mentioned article is this one:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823921

So you have to use "regedit" and find the following adress:
HKEY_USERS\(many numbers)\ Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\MailSettings
And you have to edit the following string:
"PlainWrapLen"

In the registry you can type in any number you want, I use "9999", which means that an extra line break is going to get added after 9999 characters. I guess there aren't many people who will write 9999 characters without using a line break and even if you do, to have one after 9999 characters is bearable. So this is the solution.

I would like to mention that I fucking hate Microsoft and Microsoft Outlook for that kind of crap. Have a nice day.

This behavior is also present in Outlook for Mac 2011 and it's driving me NUTS. If I want to add a linebreak to an email, I will add a linebreak, not the client.

Does anybody know how to alter this behavior in Outlook 2011 for mac?

Also, I would like to mention that I fucking hate Microsoft and Microsoft Outlook for this kind of crap, too.

I know that this thread hasn't had any update in long time but I wanted to update with a fix I found. It is a change to Outlook options without having to modify any registry keys.

Took a year, but apparently you found the solution to the problem. Sir, I would like to thank you.

On a sidenote, Opera's mail client is using UTF-8 by default. That's why I never had such problems with Opera.
