Default Office 2003 Signature in events

I have set up my signature and it works with no issues whilst sending mail.

However if I set up an event within the calendar, if I try sending it across as an event invite the images will not load and the hyperlinks appear as text in the body of the signature....

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Nick

-------------

PS. I was asked these questions

What type of email account configured in Outlook (POP or IMAP or Exchange)?

What type of image is added in signature? Is the image hyperlinked in signature?

Do you see the hyperlink in the signature at your end or at the invitees end? How does it look in your sent items?

--------------

and answered with.......

--------------

We are using an Exchange account

There are 3 images, which are all jpegs - a logo that is hyperlinked to our home page, and a twitter and linked in image linked to the relevant twitter / linked in pages.

I tried them as png files but this did not help.

I see the hyperlink in my signature before I send the invite. I just tested it, to be 100% sure, with a colleague and the images do not appear & the hyperlink text is the same

Its really annoying, I've also tried changing the signature format to various web page / html pages and this still does not help

So the hyperlinks are all inserted as images with hyperlinks?

What if you just insert the hyperlink as hyperlinked text (without the image) - is the link preserved then?

Thanks for the suggestion - the links and text is preserved when there are no images....

It would be great to have the images and hyperlinks though....is there a way of doing this?

Thanks

Nick

I suspect the problem is that Outlook sends meeting requests as RTF-formatted messages. If they were HTML-formatted you could retain the images. I don't know of any way to change that (without breaking the meeting request functionality).

Thanks for the reply - typical Microsoft!!

Perhaps I could save the signature as an rtf format.

Can this then be used as a signature? Then have 2 different signatures which can be used depending on the scenario

Well, in their defense I think it would be a not-insignificant rewrite of the feature to support HTML-formatted meeting requests and, though maybe this is my unsentimental side, doing that just to support hyperlinked images seems a little frivolous.

That said, you can try creating the signature in RTF format, though I doubt you'll get the result you're after. I don't think RTF supports hyperlinks on embedded images (even the images themselves are a little problematic). Remember: RTF means Rich TEXT format.

I think your best bet is to just use the hyperlinked text for the time being.

I've just had some big problems with Microsoft in the past and sometimes find them very difficult...

I had an Xbox I was trying to connect to my PC and couldnt, a Nintendo Wii was able to connect instantly!! Same with a Logitech bluetooth keyboard - it never works properly with Windows - connect it to an iPad and instantly it works and all the features work!!

Thanks for the reply - shame it wasnt kept in the same format when the software was written!!

All the best

Nick
