Hello.
I'm new to the forum, so forgive me if this has already been addressed, but I can't seem to find it. I am running Office 2003. I use regular outlook (not express) and I sent an email with an attachement that was too large and now it is stuck. It will not let me delete it. I even tried turning off my computer and its still there. Any suggestions? Thanks, Smoky |

Yes, this seems to be a common problem. I'm also having. I am connected to hotmail. Additionally, the receiver usually get a new message everytime outlook tries to send, so it is going through. I can only image how pissed my accountant is at me this morning when he received 50 emails from me. Usually, I am able to stop the sent and just delete the file...but, not this time. I have tried the following typical fixes without avail. Additional suggestions are appreciated.
1. Going into offline mode, turning of network connection or unplugging, closing and restarting Outlook then deleting or moving the file. I have also tried this ctrl-del and through the Mailbox Cleanup... search. 2. Creating a new primary pst file and reloading outlook, then deleting the file or folder. 3. Downloaded Microsoft's Information Store Viewer (mdbvu.exe) and tried to force the deletion. Everything else I have found seems related to Exchange servers. Other suggestions??? |

Hi All,
I once have this issue and it was real pain because all emails got stuck in a queue after that huge one. Fortunately the solution is simple: Go to offline mode: File/Work Offline Go to outbox and locate the email which is causing the problem (mostly the huge one) and delete it. Turn off offline mode: File/Work Offline I hope it helped. Kind regards, Wries |

Thanks for the quick response. I have used your method in the past and it has worked. But this time...no go.
It is a hotmail account (HTTP). Not sure that it would make a difference though, as I am not even connecting to the account at this point as I am in offline mode. |

fine, i have added my hotmail account via Outlook connector, sent 30MB bmp file. It have stuck in outgoing emails folder however i had not problems deleting it when in offline mode.
Try to do this: click on send/receive drop down list - expand "send/receive settings" and choose show progress. If the email is still about to be sent (i am not sure how does this work if you are in offline mode) just cancel this task. It worked for me as well and it deleted the large email from outgoing emails folder. In case you will not have this task shown there, try to go to online mode, wait until it start sending it (or send it manually via send/receive) and try to do the above. Let me know if that helped. Kind regards, Wries |

I am familiar with how to clear the typical stuck message and have tried various methodologies. I have had to do this on numerous occasions in the past. The problem is that even when I force the message to disconnect via going into offline mode it still thinks it is sending and won't let me touch it. Thanks again for all the help. |

Hmmm....so I was able to get it to stop sending, by going back into online mode and canceling the send. I had done this several times in the past. No idea why it worked in that particular instance.
Now I just sent a few emails with small attachments. A 3MB doc file got stuck...GRRRRR ![]() |

Cancel the Send/Receive Process & then click/drag the email over to your drafts. Open it and 'resize the picture or attachment' by following the directions here.
