Hello,
I have an exchange account through godaddy. I have a work computer and a home computer, both of which see Outlook exactly the same. I also have an Online File Folder through godaddy. This is a 100GB file folder that I can save files to or access files from at anytime. When my email gets close to the 2GB storage limit, which is mandated by my exchange plan, I usually create an archive.pst folder. This archive folder is only accessible from the computer from which it is created. So in other words, if I archive at work, I can only access those archived files at work. When I use my computer at home, I do not see the archive files. This is a normal and I realize this is how outlook works. So, I was thinking, what if I at work I archive to the online file folder instead of the local drive. Would I be able to open outlook at home and access the archived.pst file that is on my online file folder? This is what I have done so far: At work, I mapped my online file folder to the v: drive. At work, I successfully archived to the v: drive. I used windows explorer to verify that the file did indeed get saved there. At work, I have access to the archived.pst folder no problem at work. At home, I mapped my online file folder to the v: drive as well. When I open Outlook at home, and go to file, open outlook data file, and pick the archive.pst file on the online file folder, I get an error that says "Out of memeory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again". So my main question is, is a .pst folder available to use when saving it to an online folder? |
