Default Problems moving Outlook Data to new computer

I am trying to move my Outlook 2007 data (email, calendar and contacts) from my old work laptop(Outlook 2007 Exchange server) to my personal PC (Outlook 2007). I have a cached file (ost) on the old laptop, but the configuration will not allow me to create a backup PST file ... when I use the EXPORT function I get a message "PST (Personal Storage) usage is disabled on this computer".

I've read through the MSOffice FAQ but can't figure out what to do next.

Questions:
  1. Can I use a copy of the OST from my old laptop to update my Outlook datafile on the personal laptop? If so, how?
  2. Is there a way to enable PST usage on the old laptop so I can create a backup PST?

Since this is on an Exchange Server, you may want to check with your admin to see if they disabled the feature for some reason.

Found this in another post:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q258277/, is a link to microsoft saying to add the entry to disable pst sharing, so a natural assumption would be to delete it, to restore it. However, if it is implemented as part of domain policy then it will just reset with the next boot.

I am no longer part of the domain as I left the company ... I was given the laptop. I need to reimage it but I'd like to pull off my cached Outlook data 1st ... this was definately a domain policy.

Is there some way to use the OST file and import it into another Outlook client?
