I'm getting the well know red X cross problem when trying to view pictures in my emails. I've been looking for a fix for days now and still not found a working solution.
I have Window 7 Home Edition and use Firefox 3.6.12 as my browser along with Microsoft Outlook 2007. Previous actions or googled resolutions that didn't work include:
Someone must have a clue on how I can get this fixed. Please help me. |

I'm not sure how to answer this but I use Pop3 account with my Virgin Media subscription.
Does that help? |

If you go there using Firefox but not Outlook, do pics work then?

Never thought of trying that.
I just logged in and found that accessing the emails via the browser has the same problem. No red cross but the pictures are not there. looks like it's Virgin media thats the problem rather than outlook? |

When you log on, I imagine you get a security warning, something like Do you want to view only the content that was secure, etc blah blah.
If you answer Yes, then Firefox will not allow you to see pictures. let me know if this is it or not please. |

I think I've disable all security warnings a while ago. Trying to figure out how to get it back.

Thank you. I set all the security warning notifications but when I went back into the web email there was no warning.

Is there a "Basic" version of email at Virgin... if so, did you try there?
Are you using the most recent version of Firefox? When did this start? Have you checked to see if the issue is resolved if using IE8? |

There is a little link at the bottom of the web-mail page that allows you to switch to Basic HTML. I clicked that but could still not view the pictures.
Yeah I'm using Firefox version 3.6.12 which is the newest. It started about a week ago. It's only in the last couple of days that I have required to have the problem fixed. I tried IE8 and IE8 (64-bit) but both have the same problem and images aren't coming through. |

Pictures on websites work fine though... the problem is just email?

Same problem here. Running IE9 on Win 7 64. It just started happening. I hope Kimberly can help.
Just another thought, recently there were some security updates installed for Office 2007 and that could be what's happening. I'll check further. Also I have Enterprise Office 2007 installed. Last edited by Porkfat; 11-18-2010 at 04:48 PM. Reason: Additional information |
