archiving mail- not doing it

HI,

I want to archive old mail - stuff longer than 1 year old.

I clicked on file/ archive and placed the date in the 'Archive items older than' box and then clicked OK -

Noting happened.

My in box is still the same .

I also went to Tools/options/ other/ and made necessary changes in the auto archive settings and still nothing?

What am I doing wrong?
