Questions about connecting a Mac to Exchange Server 2003
We are a secured network, consisting of 10 subnets, and we have one (and only one) Mac G5 (not yet connected to the domain although it does use the network connectivity). This Mac user wants to use Entourage and connect to our Exchange server for scheduling and email use. One of our concerns is the domain membership and how secure it will be; the other is what do we need to know in general about exchange server 2003 connectivity.
Has anyone some insights about network security? The domain authentication issue is a huge one for us as we are in security-regulated industry. What do we need to be aware of? What issues does WebDAV protocol entail? I read that at times the use of a proxy can bollix Entourage, and we do use a proxy. We control permissions, access and protocols by IP address. The G5 would be in a different subnet from the server, if that makes any difference. I did download the MS Resource Kit for Office for Mac, and found a list of necessary ports, etc., but I have a lot of questions.
