Problem - how do I stop duplicate emails

I'm going crazy!! My situation/facts:



My outlook is retrieving multiple copies of emails from my email server.

I have the "leave message on the server" checked since I need a copy left there.

I removed all email from the server but outlook is still downloading the duplicate messages! From where? There are about 100 emails getting retrieved. Where are these stored?

The messages are retrieved from May 2nd on. Why May 2nd?

At this moment I'll use all these emoticons: :x :cry: :? :?:

Any help will greatly appreciated. I'm so tired of deleting duplicate emails.
